List of 5 Records in Indian T20 Premier League Which are Almost Unbreakable:
1. Highest Individual Score By a Batsman: Chris Gayle (175* vs Pune Warriors India)
Who else, but the most destructive batsman the game has seen over the last decade or so? On 23rd April 2013, playing for Bangalore in a home game against Pune Warriors India, Chris Gayle launched an unbelievable attack against the opposition bowlers. Sending the fielders on a leather hunt throughout the 20 overs, Gayle scored a mammoth 175 not-out, off just 66 deliveries, with 13 fours and 17 sixes (which still remains the record for the highest number of sixes in a single inning) to his name. The next best in this list is a score posted way back in 2008, which tells you how difficult it will be to break Gayle’s record. The self-fashioned “Universe Boss” has been among the most picked players in the Indian T20 Fantasy Premier League cricket teams.
2. Best Bowling Figures in an Innings: Alzarri Joseph (6/12 vs Hyderabad)
Another record in the name of a West Indian cricketer that seems almost impossible to break anytime soon. Alzarri Joseph, the young fast bowler, broke a long-standing bowling record, picking up 6 wickets giving away only 12 runs in the process against Hyderabad in the previous edition.
3. Most Hattricks by a Bowler: Amit Mishra (3 hattricks)
T20 is a format that is known to be a cruel one for bowlers, with the perception for spin bowlers even worse as they are always seen as easier targets. Taking into the account the format, and the Indian conditions where almost every pitch is batting heaven, Amit Mishra’s feat seems all the more impressive. The veteran spinner has taken 3 hattricks, in 2008, 2011 and 2013, twice against Deccan Chargers and once against Pune Warriors India. With the leg-spinner a part of the Delhi franchise for the upcoming edition, don’t bet against him to add to this impressive tally.
4. Most Sixes: Chris Gayle (326 sixes)
Another impressive record for the big West Indies opener, and one that is surely not in any risk of being broken anytime soon. Chris Gayle has hit an astounding 326 sixes so far in the league, that too from just 125 games. His closest competitor lies more than 100 sixes away, and Gayle isn’t even done yet, with the upcoming edition presenting another chance to add to this mammoth tally.
5. Most Runs in a Single Edition: Virat Kohli (973 runs)
The 2016 edition of Indian T20 Premier League saw the very best of the modern master Virat Kohli, as the Bangalore skipper obliterated every attack he came up against. Kohli scored 973 runs, from 16 games in the tournament, with 4 centuries to his name. This is another record that seems almost impossible to break for any batsmen.
